Conversations in the car

A long commute means plenty of time for Mommy and Macklin to chat. A sampling from today:

Mommy: (cough cough COUGH)

Macklin: Mommy cof!

Mommy: Yes, Mommy coughs when she's sick.

Macklin: (fake coughs) Mack-Mack cof!

Mommy: Yes, Macklin coughs when he's sick too.

Macklin: Daddy cof?

Mommy: Yes.

Macklin: An' pop-pop cof?

Mommy: Yes, Pop-Pop coughs when he's sick, too.

Macklin: An' Gamma cof?

Mommy: Yes, we all cough when we're sick.

Macklin, satisfied: Oh. We cof.

...

Later in the day:

Macklin: Cookie? Wan' cookie?

Mommy: No, no cookie. We don't have cookies in the car.

Macklin: WAN' COOoooOOOoooKIE!

Mommy, grabbing an opportunity to teach "please": Macklin, what do we say when we want a cookie?

(Macklin stops to think for a moment.)

Macklin: We say, wan' cookie?
