Fire station field trip

Macklin had a field trip to the fire station today. We talked about it in the morning. With an intense stare, he said, "maybe they'll let me drive the fire truck." His eyes were blazing with the possibility.
I picked him up from school. The first thing I asked was, "what did you do today?"
The reply: "uh, nothing."
Shalin, his teacher, rolled her eyes and prompted him: "what BIG thing did you do today?"
"I don't know... what?"
It took about six more hints before he recalled the fire station. The intense eyes returned.
