Conversations with Macklin
Mommy: "Hey, buddy, what did you learn about in school today?"
Macklin, considering: "Um, I dunno. OH. We learned about elections."
Mommy: "Oh yeah? Do you remember the names of the two men who want to be President of the United States, where we live?"
Macklin: "Yeah. Mitt Romney and President Obama."
Mommy, impressed: "Hey, that's very good!"
Macklin, with a shrug: "Yeah. But they didn't come to the Roberts School today."
(Later...)
Mommy: "Daddy and I both voted today."
Macklin: "Can I vote?"
Mommy: "No, you have to be an adult to vote. You have to be over 18 years old."
Macklin, whining: "Ohh! I want to vote! Why can't kids vote?"
