Gilroy Gardens

Gilroy, an hour's drive south of San Jose, is famous for two things: garlic and Gilroy Gardens. Macklin and I explored the latter last week. Gilroy Gardens is a small theme park focused on the younger set, with rides and whatnot. The roller coaster there (unlike other less reputable but more fun places) did not allow his size on so Macklin really wasn't enthused by the place until we got to the water elements.

The one that really got him (and other kids) excited was this tree shaped structure that sprayed water. You could walk into the tree (stay with me on this one) and, from the top, head down a water slide (which was really just a twisting slide with water running down it).

Post slide. He went down it at least 10 times.
