Rain rain

...go away, come again some other day when we're not so jazzed up to go for a walk.

After much debate and road-testing of strollers, we finally settled on the Maclaren Quest Mod in charcoal/sky blue/flame orange. (Love the name.)

It arrived late this week, and we were all excited about taking it for the inaugural walk today. Would we head to the garden show at the Garfield Park Conservatory? Head to the children's museum and nearby beer garden at Navy Pier? Or maybe just our awesome park right down the street?

But no. The skies split open and poured all day long. We finally headed to the mall, thinking at least we could stroll him around indoors, but we picked the absolute wrong mall. It was noisy, packed with obnoxious teenagers (several of them pushing their own strollers, mind you), and Macklin couldn't settle down at all. After many tears by all of us, we finally got back into the car and headed back home. The only saving grace of the experience was a pit stop at Oberweis Dairy for hot fudge sundaes, which Macklin did not get to enjoy (but maybe will later.)

Macklin learns to open his mouth

We were more successful with cereal-eating on Mack's 6 month birthday.

By Friday, he had it down pat - he opened his mouth for every spoonful and even seemed to enjoy it. He also slept through the night (8 pm - 5 am), which was much appreciated by Mommy.

Ah-h-h! He is coming right along now. The consistency of his cereal is right; the taste is to his taste; and he is ready to indulge in what becomes his first "human" child meal, not to belittle his "mommy meals," but we can't keep him tiny forever. That was a very enjoyable video! Hope to see more in the future! Love to all.

We can't keep him tiny forever? Bummer.
